As an associate in Chaitons’ Insolvency and Litigation Groups, Darren practices both bankruptcy and restructuring in addition to general commercial litigation.

 

In 2016, Darren received his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western University and was awarded the S.F. Glass Gold Medal for placing first amongst all students in the program.  In 2019, Darren graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He was awarded the Warren K. Winkler Prize in Labour and Employment Law. During his final year at the University of Toronto, Darren participated in the Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot and was named the top oralist by a panel headlined by Supreme Court of Canada Justice Suzanne Côté.

 

Darren began his career at Chaitons as a summer law student in 2018 and completed his articles with the firm during 2019-2020. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2020. Prior to joining Chaitons, Darren worked as a summer law student in the Salary Arbitration Division of the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA).

 

Outside of the office, Darren enjoys travelling, rooting for the Raptors and Leafs and searching for the next great podcast.
