About Barb Mikielski:

Barb is a licensed title agent serving all of Pennsylvania and concentrating on the Northeast Pennsylvania region. She has nine years experience as a title agent and over 20 years in the title industry as a title searcher, examiner and closing agent.

Abstract Resources is the result of years of accumulating knowledge in the title insurance industry. Barb has personally searched titles in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming, Susquehanna, Lycoming, Schuylkill, Carbon, Lehigh, Sullivan, Wayne, Pike and Monroe Counties. She has examined title for Centre, Northumberland, Berks, and other southern and middle PA counties. These titles are for residential and commercial properties.

The secondary market is also an area of expertise. Barb worked in the equity area of the mortgage industry in the refi boom and is used to accurate work in a very timely manner. She has the knowledge to review judgments and liens and determine if they apply to the situation at hand. She brings to the client’s attention any peculiarities that are customary practice to her, but new to the client.

Barb is a notary public and conducts witness closings. She has conducted thousands of mortgage closings: purchases, refinances, construction and commercial, over the last 16 years.

Throughout this Barb is also involved in her community. She is a member of the Advisory Council for Loyalville United Methodist Church and volunteers at their monthly dinners by baking desserts and attending to the serving of customers. She is a past board member of Back Mountain Business Association and has volunteered for its Children’s Fair, Halloween Parade and Christmas Shopping for Children in connection with the Back Mountain Rotary Club. She is a past member of the Harvey’s Lake Women’s Club and Committee Member, Boy Scout Troop 241. She is a past member of the Leadership Wilkes-Barre Alumni Council. She serves as co-chairperson of the Northeast Chapter of the Pennsylvania Land Title Association.

Barb lives in the Back Mountain with her husband Jerry and their sons, Jerry and Andrew, and their two dogs, Crouton and Trixie. Her relaxation time is spent gardening, quilting, reading and restoring her 1957 Nash Metropolitan.
